Hi There,
From your PIC your gap doesn't look so bad. I have a retainer that I got about 3 months ago. At first it was just to maintain the gap but recently I had my dentist adjust the retainer so that it will close the gap just a little....Hope that helps.

Hi there. I have had a gap in between my front teeth since I was born. I have a large labial frenum and so I suppose a gappy toothed smile was meant to be. When I was 17, the gap got even bigger from the removal of both top wisdom teeth (it's now 2.5 millimeters wide). I feel that it is out of control now and I was thinking of getting some ortho work done.

Thought it may be a good idea to find some more of "my kind" before I do anything drastic.

Regards,
